Thailand is the kind of country you either hate or love. Or if your name is Angela and you’re sitting alone on the deck of a small bungalow in the middle of nowhere, you might hate it and love it in the same time. It’s not the type of place that strike you with it’s beauty. Or maybe it is if you’re experiencing the resort life and you have someone dropping you off, on some island you planned on going. For me it’s the people. And how beautiful they are in their simplicity. Everyone smiles in here. Life’s not bad in Romania but to complain has become a way of saying “Hello” and it sadness me.
With food on the streets, smoke, all sorts of selling things and motorcycles carrying 3 people, their small fridge, children and groceries, all in the same time, it can get a little bit crowded – outside and in your head too.
I got to see the north side of Thailand last year and returned for the islands this year. People are not complicated in here. 50bacht can put a smile on their face in a way 5ron can never do for us. They don’t care for clothes, fashion, hygiene or over-protecting their kids. They take every day as it comes. Maybe that’s what God has been trying to teach me here all along.
